On arrival at Guwahati Airport (GAU) & transfer to Shillong. Enroute visit Umium Lake (also known as Barapani Lake), a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. Upon reaching check in & overnight at Shillong. Notes: Sightseeing could only get incorporated if guest has early arrival.
After breakfast, today go a day excursion to Cherrapunjee. Enroute visit Elephant falls. At Cherrapunjee visit Garden of Caves, Arwah Cave / Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. Later drive back to Shillong. Overnight in Shillong. Notes: Most of the waterfalls get dried up in winter.
Wake up early and have your breakfast and drive to Mawlynnong. Today you can explore the cleanest village Mawlynnong in the world. You can take the sky walk to have a spectacular view of the Single living Root Bridge. After lunch drive to Dawki. Dawki is the gateway to Bangladesh where major export and import transactions take place. It is a splendid drive of 45 kilometers passing through deep gorges and ravines, which is certainly a thrilling experience. On approaching Dawki is the Umngot River, The Umngot River is the natural boundary between Ri Pnar or Jaintia Hills with Hima Khyrim of Khasi hills over which a single span suspension bridge was constructed. Drive back to Shillong for overnight stay. Mawlynnong village, situated at about 100 Kms ahead of Shillong on the Shillong-Dawki Road, 30 kms from Pynursla, is a village of 75 households with a population of 400. An idyllic location, this village epitomizes a standard, which all other villages need to aspire to be. Dubbed the cleanest village in India by Discover India Magazine, the primary Village School till class V boasts of its no dropout record and the village of 90 % literacy. Paved walkways and beautiful flowerbed all along mark the village, with waterfalls, *a living root bridge, hilly rivulets, acacia plantation and an excellent view of the faraway plains of Bangladesh all contribute to the ambience of this village. Farming of betel nut & leaves, broomsticks and pepper along with bee rearing are the primary economic activity of this Village and with the village headman himself taking the responsibility of making visitors comfortable, a day in this village gives an insight into the life of the Khasis, the influence of the Church and its metamorphosis. After breakfast check out and proceed to Guwahati. On time in the evening go for River Cruise (on direct payment & subjected to operational condition).Upon reaching, check in & over night at Guwahati. Optional: 1.
