Cherrapunjee(4690Ft / 1430 Mts, 200 Kms / 05to 07 Hrs drive approx) Meet and Greet on arrival at Guwahati Airport (GAU) / Guwahati Railway Station (GHY)and transfer to Cherrapunjee. En route you will visit the largest manmade lake of Northeast India –Umium Lake (also known as Barapani Lake), Elephant Fall & Duwan Sin Syiem (View Point). Reached Cherrapunjee, check in at the Hotel. Overnight at Cherrapunjee. Note: 01. Guests are requested to book early arrival flight. 02. Sightseeing only possible if guest are arriving in morning. 03. Most waterfalls get dried in winter.
After breakfast go for a trek to Double Decker Living Root Bridge – 3 to 4 hours walk oneway from the starting point(depending on the Fitness of the guest). The distance cover is around 4 km one-way with down and up of 1000 feet height approx. This trek goes downhill through village Sohsarat. The steps are relatively steeper in two short stretches. Half the distance is covered by steps going downhill. Then there is a jungle path going along the sides of the hill leading to the Living Root Bridge with a few steps after short stretches of sloping foot path. Moss thrives on these sandstone steps during the monsoon and makes them slippery, hence one need to be extra careful. Later trek back to the starting point and then board your vehicle to drive back to the hotel. Overnight at Cherrapunjee. Notes : 1. Rainbow waterfalls is further 01 hour walk from Double Decker Route Bridge Point. In case, guests want to cover, is based on individual choice & fitness level, they need to inform the driver accordingly. Optional : 1. Mawlynnong(4906 Ft / 1496 Mts, 80 Kms / 03to 04 Hrsdrive approxoneway from Cherrapunjee) Dawki Lake (5904 Ft / 1800 Mts, 30 Kms / 01to 02 Hrs drive approxoneway from Mawlynnong) Shillong(5002 Ft / 1525 Mts, 90 Kms / 03to 04 Hrsdrive approxoneway from Dawki Lake) Wake up early and have your breakfast and drive to Mawlynnong. Today you can explore the cleanest village Mawlynnong in the world. You can take the sky walk to have a spectacular view of the Single living Root Bridge. After lunch drive to Dawki. Dawki is the gateway to Bangladesh where major export and import transactions take place. It is a splendid drive of 45 kilometers passing through deep gorges and ravines, which is certainly a thrilling experience. On approaching Dawki is the Umngot River, The Umngot River is the natural boundary between Ri Pnar or Jaintia Hills with Hima Khyrim of Khasi hills over which a single span suspension bridge was constructed. Drive to Shillong for overnight stay. Mawlynnong village, situated at about 100 Kms ahead of Shillong on the Shillong-Dawki Road, 30 kms from Pynursla, is a village of 75 households with a population of 400. An idyllic location, this village epitomizes a standard, which all other villages need to aspire to be. Dubbed the cleanest village in India by Discover India Magazine, the primary Village School till class V boasts of its no dropout record and the village of 90 % literacy. Paved walkways and beautiful flowerbed all along mark the village, with waterfalls, *a living root bridge, hilly rivulets, acacia plantation and an excellent view of the faraway plains of Bangladesh all contribute to the ambience of this village. Farming of betel nut & leaves, broomsticks and pepper along with bee rearing are the primary economic activity of this Village and with the village headman himself taking the responsibility of making visitors comfortable, a day in this village gives an insight into the life of the Khasis, the influence of the Church and its metamorphosis. Later proceed for the local sightseeing visit Don Bosco Museum (Sunday Closed), Ward’s Lake located at the heart of the city which is popular for its garden walks and boating, Lady Hydari Park & Cathedral of Mary. Overnight Stay at Shillong.
Kaziranga National Park (197 Ft/ 60 Mts, 240 Kms / 06 to 07 Hrs drive approx) After breakfast drive to Kaziranga. Upon arrival at Kaziranga, check in at hotel. Overnight stay at Kaziranga. Kaziranga National Park: In the heart of Assam, covering an area of 430 sq-kms, is inhabited by the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds. Kaziranga National Park (197 Ft / 60 Mts) After breakfast go for Optional: Elephant Ride / Jeep Safari (subjected to availability & operational condition) to one Range. After lunch go for Optional: Jeep Safari (subjected to availability & operational condition) to the other Range. Visit Kaziranga National Orchid And Biodiversity Park (Subjected to time availability & operational condition). Overnight at Kaziranga.
